[Speaking] Talk about Vision Correction Surgery

Most people who get vision correction surgery undergo the procedure in their 20s or 30s. But these days, older people sometimes received treatment, too. However, there is a tradeoff if you receive the surgery, as you become farsighted. Your distance vision improves but your near vision gets worse. You could suddenly have to wear reading glasses.
One solution is monovision eye surgery. It works by correcting one eye to see far away, while the other eye is set to see nearby objects. However, it takes several months to get used to the eyesight imbalance.
After weighing the pros and cons for a while, I received mono vision LASEK surgery a month ago. My vision is 20/20 in one eye, and 20/40 in the other. Sometimes, it feels like I’m wearing 3D glasses. It take some getting used to. However, I love that I don't have to wear glasses that get fogged up when I wear a mask.

시력교정술을 하는 대부분의 사람들은 20대나 30대에 그 수술을 받습니다. 그러나 요즘 조금 연세있으신 분들도 이런 수술을 받을 때가 있습니다. 그러나 노안이 오는 와중에는 이 수술을 받으면 반대급부가 있습니다. 원거리는 잘 보이게 되지만, 근거리는 잘 안 보이게 됩니다. 그래서 갑자기 돋보기 안경을 써야할 수도 있습니다.

해결책으로 짝눈수술이 있습니다. 한쪽 눈은 원거리가 잘 보이게 교정하는 반면, 다른 한쪽 눈은 가까운 것을 잘 보이게 하는 교정술입니다. 그런데 이런 시력차이에 익숙해지는데 몇개월이 걸립니다. 한 동안 일장일단을 고민하다가, 한달 전에 라섹 수술로 짝눈 수술을 했습니다. 그래서 한 쪽 눈은 1.0 다른 한 쪽 눈은 0.5입니다. 가끔은 3D 안경을 쓴 것 같은 느낌이 들어요. 적응하는데 다소 시간이 걸립니다. 하지만 마스크를 착용했을 때, 김이 서리는 안경을 쓸 필요가 없어서 너무 좋습니다.
