What is Futsal? 풋살이란 무엇인가?
You’ve probably heard of football. But what about Futsal? This exciting game can be considered an indoor version of soccer. But unlike soccer, futsal allows unlimited substitutions. Players are constantly running on and off the court, much like ice hockey. Generally speaking, futsal is faster paced than traditional soccer. The smaller playing area affords more opportunities for players to touch the ball. Also, there are no off-sides in futsal. Therefore, futsal games are usually higher scoring than regular soccer. All of this combines to make it more exciting to play and watch.

아마 축구에 대해서는 들어본 적이 있을 것이다. 하지만 풋살은 어떤가? 이 흥미진진한 경기는 축구의 실내판으로 생각될 수 있다. 그러나 축구와 달리, 풋살은 선수 교체를 무제한으로 할 수 있다. 거의 아이스하키처럼 선수들은 경기장을 들락날락 하면서 끊임없이 달린다. 일반적으로 말하자면, 풋살은 전통적인 축구보다 더 빠른 속도로 진행된다. 경기장의 면적이 더 작기 때문에 선수들이 공을 만져볼 수 있는 기회를 더 많이 준다. 또한, 풋살에는 오프사이드가 없다. 그래서 풋살 경기는 일반 축구보다 보통 더 높은 득점이 나온다. 이 모든 것들이 합쳐져서 경기에 참가하고 지켜보는 것이 더 흥미진진해진다.

The small space requires players to play quicker and make decisions faster. Often a split second is all players have to decide what to do with the ball. Interestingly, many famouse soccer players got their start playing futsal. The quicker style of play taught them early on about the necessary skills to succeed on the big stage.
