Going to a Baseball Game in South Korea 한국에서 야구 경기 관람하기
Korean Baseball Organization, KBO, came into being in 1982 with 6 teams. That number has grown to 10 teams from 8 different areas of the country with Seoul hosting 3 teams. Of course, internationally South Korea is best known for archery, speed skating, and academic quality. That said, baseball is the most popular sport in the country. Korean teams welcome foreign players as well, though there are restrictions. Each team is limited to 3 non Koreans, with a maximum of 2 pitchers and 2 players on the field at any one given time. That didn’t discourage, however, the 8.4 million people that flocked to the stadiums for regular season games in 2017, with an average attendance of 11,600.

KBO 한국야구위원회는1982년에 6개 구단으로 발족되었다. 그 숫자는 서울을 연고지로 하는 3개팀을 포함하여 8개 지역에 10개 팀으로 늘어났다. 물론 국제적으로 한국은 양국, 스피드 스케이팅, 뛰어난 학업성취도로 가장 잘 알려져있다. 그렇다 치더라도, 야구는 국내에서 가장 인기있는 스포츠이다. 한국팀들은 외국인 선수들을 환영하지마 제한 규정이 있다. 각 팀별 외국인 선수는 3명으로 제한되며 이 중에 투수는 최대 2명이고 경기 중에 필드에서 2명만 동시에 뛸 수 있다. 하지만 그럼에도 2017년 정규시즌 경기에는 840만명이 경기장으로 몰렸고, 평균 관중 수는 11,600명이었다
Seeing a baseball game in Korea is a must. The energy in the stadium is palpable, with fans cheering their hearts out and singing songs to support their team. Tickets are reasonably priced. Going to a game will only cost you somewhere between 7 and $ 18. When a batter comes to the plate, they are not announced by the stadium announcer. The fans sing the batter’s signiture song. The crowd continues to cheer regardless of the score. There are also cheer-leaders and mascots on hand to support both teams, but the fans need little help.

한국에서 야구경기 관람은 빼놓을 수 없다. 팬들이 아낌없이 응원하고 팀을 위해 노래를 불러서 경기장의 에너지가 손에 만져질 듯하다. 티켓 가격은 합리적으로 책정되었다. 경기장에 가려면 7~18불 사이의 어디쯤에서 비용을 지불하기만 하면 될 것이다. 타자가 타석에 들어서면 장내운서가 발표하지 않는다. 팬들은 그 타자만의 독특한 응원 노래를 부른다. 관중들은 득점에 상관없이 계속 응원한다. 현장에는 각 팀을 지지하는 응원단과 마스코트들도 있지만 팬들은 거의 도움이 필요로 하지 않는다.
