저는 손이 거칠어보인다는 말을 많이 듣는 것 같애요. 손이 거칠다는 건 다소 험한 일을 많이 해왔던 것처럼 짐작되기도 하죠. 저는 손 크림도 잘 안 발라요. 가끔 교양있게 말하는 친구들을 보면 그들의 부모님들이 어떤 분이신지 대략 짐작이 가기도 합니다. 오늘은 이와 관련된 영어 표현 배워보도록 하죠.
오늘 거칠은 제 손을 보고 사람들이 쓸 수 있는 표현?
영어로 어떻게 짐작할까요?
** best guess 최고의 추측 =>추측을 좀 더 세밀 =>사정이나 형편 따위를 어림잡아 헤아릴 수 있음 => 짐작
** 직역: 너의 짐작은 무엇이냐?
** 의역: 대략적으로 짐작해봐
