이현석: 이 분이 아이돌 팬덤의 시초라고 해서 얼마나 인기가 많았는지, 자세히 올려주셨어요
제니퍼: Some even say that he was a rock star at that time. He was the Elvis Presley of the before Elvis Presley.

이현석: 우리 오늘 날로 말하면, K-pop 팬덤이 있듯이, 1800년대 이분의 팬층을 보면 지금 아이돌 팬덤과 다를 바 없어요. 그래서 시초라고 해도 말이 되는 것 같아요
제니퍼: I did search on him as well to find out more about him, about his love life as well. Most of all, I remember hearing a lot about how good looking, how every handsome, he was.
이현식: He had a lot of showmanship, too, when he played piano.

[Speaking] Talk about the Pianist Franz Liszt 피아니스트 프란츠 리스트에 대해서 이야기해주세요
Franz Liszt was a composer and pianist, born in Hungary in 1811. In his early days, he is said to have been deeply moved by the music of the devilishly talented violinist Paganini. He left behind various works for the piano that are extravagant and require great skill.
One could argue that he was a forefather to today’s Idol fandom. Thousands of high society women gathered to watch him perfom, and people frequently passed out while seeing him play. Wherever he stayed, people camped out in front of his residence to catch a glimpse of him.
Liszt was the first performer to place the piano sideways, so that audiences could see his extravagant technique. He also opened the lid of the piano toward the audience to better project sound. Among his signiture works for the piano is La Campanella in which the opening bars sound like handbells.
작곡가이자 피아니스트인 프란츠 리스트는 1811년 헝가리에서 태어났다. 젊은 시절에는, 굉장한 재능을 가진 천재 바이올리니스트인 파가니니의 연주를 듣고 깊이 감명을 받았다고 한다. 그는 화려하고 기교가 넘치는 피아노 곡들을 많이 남겼다.
오늘날 아이돌 팬덤의 시초라고 해도 과언이 아니다. 수천명의 상류층의 부인들이 그의 연주를 보러 왔었고, 그의 연주를 보다가 의식을 잃는 경우도 속출했다.
리스트가 어디에 묵던 간에, 사람들이 그를 잠깐이라도 보기 위해서 그의 숙소 앞에 진을 치고 기다렸다.
리스트는 관중들이 그의 화려한 테크닉을 볼 수 있도록 피아노를 옆으로 배치한 첫번째 연주자였다. 또한, 소리를 더 잘 전달하기 위해서 피아노의 뚜껑을 관중의 방향으로 열었다. 대표적인 곡으로 도입부가 종소리와 비슷한 라 캄파넬라가 있다.
