세상에 이게 어찌된 영문이야….라고 할 때 쓸 수 있는 표현은?
직역: 봐라 그리고 봐라
** lo = look의 고어
** behold = see의 고어
상황: 주로 상대방에게 놀라움을 표현할 때, “야 이거봐라!,” “이게 어찌된 영문이야!”
A: 금고를 열었는데, 야 이거 봐라, 돈이 사라졌어
I opened the safebox. Lo and behold.
I opened the safe, but lo and behold.
돈이 사라졌어
Money is gone.
The money was gone.
B: 당신은 걔가 원하는 대로 돈을 쓰라고 허락했어요
You allowed him to spend money as he wanted.
You allowed him to spend the money any way he wants.
A: 야 이거 봐라. 무슨 일이 일어났는지 설명 좀 해줘
