(1) lie: 거짓말, (자동사)수평위치에 있는 눕다,
** lie의 과거형 => lay
** lie의 ing => lying
Go lie down on the bed. 침대가서 누워

(2) lay: (타동사)눕히다; (무언가를) 놓거나 내려놓다.
** lay의 과거형 => laid
** lay의 ing => laying
Lay it on the ground. 그거 땅에 내려놔/펼쳐.

She laid the blanket on the ground before she lay down. 그녀는 눕기 전에 담요를 돗자리에 깔았습니다.

(3) put (일반적으로 무엇을) 놓다
When the baby lay down to sleep, I put the blanket over her. 아이가 자려고 누웠을 때, 저는 아가에게 담요를 덮어주었습니다.
I put the vase on the shelf so the kids couldn’t reach it. 아이들이 다치지 않도록 꽃병을 선반 위에 놓았습니다.

(4) place 놓다 <= “put“ 보다 조심스러운 뉘앙스
