[Speaking] Talk about Your Child's Love for Fish
I have a four-year old son. Ever since his first birthday, he has been fascinated with fish. He likes them so much that I though about buying a fish tank. But I couldn't take the plunge because I thought it would be a lot of trouble. I just hoped that my son would shift his attention.

But now, 2 years since then, my son's interest in aquatic creatures has only grown. He loves memorizing the names of fish like monfish, Spanish mackerel, and tuna that even I can't tell apart.

So recently, I gave in and installed a fish tank in our home. As soon as he wakes up in the morning, my son happily observes the fish. I felt a little sorry, thinking I should have got it for him sooner. Seeing my child so happy makes me think I could even go so for as to raise a whale.

저는 4살 된 아들이 있습니다. 첫돌이 지난 시점으로부터 우리 아이는 물고기에 유난히 관심이 많았습니다. 워낙 아이가 물고기를 좋아해서 어항을 사줄까도 고민했었습니다. 그러나 번거로울까봐 엄두가 않났습니다. 그냥 아이가 관심을 다른 쪽으로 돌리길 바랬습니다.

그런데 2년이 지난 지금 아이는 물속 동물들에 대한 관심이 더 커졌습니다. 아귀, 삼치, 참치 등 엄마도 구분하지 ㅗㅅ하는 물고기들의 이름을 줄줄이 외우며 좋아합니다.

그래서 최근에 백기를 들고 집에 어항을 설치했습니다. 아침에 눈을 뜨자마자 물고기들을 관찰하며 행복해합니다. 진작에 사줄걸 미안한 마음이 들기도 했습니다. 아이가 이렇게 행복해 하는 걸보니, 이젠 고래라도 키울 것 같습니다.
